North Lake Tahoe Ski Resort Vacations
North Lake Tahoe
36 miles from the Reno-Tahoe International airport, on the (obviously) north end of Lake Tahoe you'll find the North Lake Tahoe region. Seven destination ski resorts are found in the area, and when coupled with South Shore's destinations (most notably Heavenly and Kirkwood) the area hosts one of the most extensive ski regions in the world.
Skiing and Snowboarding in North Lake Tahoe
Home to seven ski areas, the North Shore offers the perfect skiing environments for any level.
- Alpine Meadows
- Diamond Peak
- Homewood
- Mt. Rose
- Northstar at Tahoe
- Squaw Valley
- Sugar Bowl
Lift passes can be purchased individually for each resort, or skiers and boarders can purchase an interchangeable lift ticket and explore each resort on your own schedule!
North Tahoe Lodging
In addition to nearby Reno, three areas represent the primary ski destination lodging for the area. At the foot of Northstar at Tahoe an extensive village exists - the originial, more moderately-priced neighborhood a brief shuttle to Northstar's slopes and a new (as of 2006) base village with ski-in access.
Guests at Squaw Valley have several lodging selections to choose from. And finally, somewhat between these two ski resort, lies the town of Truckee with it's own atmosphere and central location.
